Core Knowledge Reference Table
The following table is meant to inform CARE sexual, reproductive, and maternal health staff on what the key technical areas important to our work are, how to improve your knowledge/capacity in these technical areas, and what the key resources are. As you look through this table, there are a few key questions to consider:

· What do we know about the burden, affected population, major causes of morbidity and mortality that our country offices face?
· What are the key risk and protective factors (individual, social, structural/environmental)?
· What are the key indicators and measures we need to know?
· What are the key clinical guidelines and recommendations (e.g. for ANC, labor and delivery, postpartum care, sick newborn, etc.)?
· What are the key interventions (e.g. family planning, skilled birth attendance, emergency obstetrics, social, behavioral, structural interventions) and what do we know about their effectiveness?
